Bridge Description

Prior to construction, Florida 414 followed all of Maitland Boulevard, a partially controlled access arterial, between U.S. 17 & 92 at Maitland and U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail) at Apopka. Upgrades to the six-lane arterial included construction of an interchange with Florida 434 (Forest City Road) and the building of a new southbound off-ramp to U.S. 17 & 92 at the eastern terminus.

Construction began in Winter 2007 on the John Land Apopka Expressway. The new toll road extends Florida 414 west from U.S. 441 to junction Florida 429 Toll (Daniel Webster Western Beltway). The six-mile extension was completed in 2009.
