Project: Miami Intermodal Center Bridge (a.k.a., MIC Bridge 10-A)
Location: Miami, Florida, USA
Owner: Florida Department of Transportation
Prime Contractor: Turner Construction
Construction: 2007 – 2011
Located next to Miami International Airport, the Miami Intermodal Center is a massive ground transportation center. Bridge 10-A is a key piece of this $1.4 billion project because it provides access to the 3.4-million sq. ft. Rental Car Center at the airport. The design incorporates a 5-span, dual-steel box girder superstructure with a variable width and high degree of curvature.
Miami Intermodal Center Bridge 10-A provides connectivity for residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County and the South Florida region between the transportation systems in the Palm Beaches, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and the Florida Keys. It also helps decongest the streets in and around the busy airport.
